La Superiora Bardolino Superiore Classico 2018
Made from... A LOT. Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Sangiovese - all from biodynamically-farmed 50+ year-old vines, which means a lot of character like your lola who has opinions on all your friends.
Just look at that name. I mean, if you're like us, it probably took you 10x longer and 10x more than you care to call a wine by its name. But that's how much you should care about this wine - coz it's a serious wine. As in. Periods. Between. Every. Word. To. Emphasize. Seriousness. Kind. Of. Serious. Wine. Like how Obama gives speeches. So. You. Can. Feel. The. Weight. Of. Every. Word.
Put some respekt on this wine's name, for Christssake!
Ok this needs a bit more words, so here goes: Fragrant. Beautifully Balanced. Silky. Red and Dark Fruit. Polished Oak.
So stop wasting time (me saying that to me writing this) and just buy this thing (me saying that to you reading this) and let us know what you think. Coz we actually need more words.
Oh, and 'L'Assoluto Naturale' by Ennio Morricone. If there's a song that it embodies this wine, it's probably that.
In the Producer's Own Words:
"It is not only a winery, but also a dream; a dream made of passion, respect and
love for the land: to prove that it is possible to produce great wine for ageing in
the Bardolino area. This is why we want to return to the roots of a denomination
that mass tourism and oenology have now declassified to minor. Here at Villa
Calicantus we believe that by meticulously working the vines, it is possible to
return to the great Bardolino wines from the ‘60s, where drinkability, elegance
and delicacy were synonyms of complexity."
